Dear Friends and Alumni,
Some of you reading will know that I graduated from the MSAUD program in the Spring of 2020 and have since returned to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I’m currently working on designing and studying community based planning policies and regulations. While establishing a career in urban planning, it has been great connecting with my fellow alumni and exchanging lessons learned, and collaborating on projects.
I am writing to share that I have recently joined the GSAPP Alumni Board with the main goal to expand and strengthen our GSAPP community. As a member of the Alumni Programming and Professional Development Committee, I invite you to lend your years of experience as mentors and professional contacts for current students.
Here are just a few ways to contribute to campus life:
Tuesday Talks is an opportunity for GSAPP students to connect with the larger alumni community for informational mentorship. The program pairs students with alumni professionals for casual hour-long, one-on-one conversations about career development. To volunteer as a mentor, please email Esther Turay for the dates of upcoming sessions.
Alumni are also invited to Host an Information Session through Career Services to introduce your firm/organization, including any employment and/or internship opportunities available. Please contact Karen Cover, Assistant Director of Career Services, to learn more.
Feel free to reach out to the GSAPP Alumni Office with any questions on these or additional volunteer opportunities. And, if you are interested in learning more about the Board and our mission, follow the link here.
Alumni engagement is so important to enriching the student experience at GSAPP. Thank you for any time you may have to give.
Best,
Hala Abukhodair ‘20 MSAUD
