Spring 2022
The Spring 2022 semester introduces an exciting line-up of events that build on the School’s ongoing exploration into issues such as climate change, social equity, as well as the impact of data and technology on the built environment through new forms of practices and collaboration across scales, modes of engagement, and geographies.
The programming is free and open to the public.
- In-person events will be open to Columbia University affiliates and live-streamed for the general public on the GSAPP YouTube Channel.

PRESERVATION IN CHINA’S FUTURE

The 2022 Fitch Colloquium will critically examine how Chinese architects are engaging with preservation to imagine new forms of creativity and cultural relevance. Organized by the Historic Preservation Program at Columbia GSAPP in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

REFLECTIVE URBANISMS: Mapping Calgary Chinatown

REFLECTIVE URBANISMS: Mapping Calgary Chinatown, a project by 2021-2022 GSAPP Incubator Prize recipient Cheryl Wing-Zi Wong ’10 MArch, is an interactive, web-based project that maps Calgary Chinatown through its architectural changes. Over two years, the project was created as part of the Calgary Chinatown Artist Residency with The City of Calgary and The New Gallery.

GSAPP Career Services is hosting its first Virtual Employer Networking Event to introduce students to firms with exciting professional opportunities.
If you are an employer anticipating hiring needs in the Spring of 2022, please reach out to reserve a free “booth” at this event. Our virtual platform will offer the opportunity to host information sessions with groups of students, meet with them one-on-one, and review resumes, work samples and portfolios. Established in 2015, the Tamer Fund for Social Ventures provides seed grants of up to $25,000 to early-stage nonprofit, for-profit, and hybrid social and environmental ventures affiliated with Columbia University.
The deadline to apply for this round of funding is March 1.
