Artist Lawrence Abu Hamdan will discuss his project AirPressure.info in the talk “Air Conditioning,” which looks at the atmosphere as a site of embodied politics. Lawrence will be introduced by Gabrielle Printz, who will be joined by Nerea Calvillo and Cruz García in responding to the presentation and hosting the Q&A.

Professor Reinhold Martin has been selected to steer the Columbia University Committee on Global Thought as its next Chair, effective July 1, 2023. The Committee on Global Thought (CGT) was created in 2006 by Columbia University President Lee C. Bollinger to provide an interdisciplinary forum for faculty and students to rethink and reconceptualize the ways the University confronts the challenges stemming from globalization.

• Professor Steven Holl’s firm Steven Holl Architects is featured in an exhibition of new educational projects throughout Latin America at the Center for Architecture in New York through September 2, 2023 titled “CAMPUS AULA.” Details here.

Introduction to Architecture is a five-week intensive summer program offering university credit to allow students to explore architecture, urban planning, or historic preservation. The next session will take place from July 5 – August 4, 2023. Students participating in the architecture track will be able to participate both online and in person; students enrolled in the urban planning and historic preservation tracks participate on an in-person basis.
