Dear Alum: In these transformative, and often difficult, times for higher education, we appreciate more than ever the support of our alumni and their connection to the UP program. From our large and growing alumni/student mentorship program, the numerous alumni participating in our Career Fairs, the pleasure we feel at our alumni/student networking mixers in seeing and mingling with so many of our graduates, to the frequent office visits our alums help us to arrange, we take pride in your career accomplishments and feel deep gratitude at your engagement with our current students. With this message, I would like to draw your attention to future activities that might be of interest to you: To help us stay connected with you, please complete this [form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSecsxkU-_HU1kDbjW6UGDBWfivYxMOLOKbze9v3n9ZiuPeWFA/viewform) by **Monday, November 18** to share updates and any news you would like to feature in the Fall Semester-in-Review newsletter, and also to let us know if you are interested in participating in our Fall mixer and Spring 2025 programming. We would like to invite you to join our Fall alumni/student networking mixer on **Friday, November 22 from 7pm to 10pm at Row House**, 2128 Frederick Douglass Boulevard at 115 St right across Morningside Park from Campus. It’s always been a terrific opportunity to speak with the current classes in an informal, friendly way, and the students always appreciate their conversations with alums and the greater appreciation they come away with at the diverse ways planners practice in the field. Together with the architecture, historic preservation, and design programs at GSAPP, the UP Program will be holding our annual Career Fair at Faculty House on **Friday, February 22, 2025** from 9am to 5pm. Please let us know if you would like to represent your employer or believe that your employer would be interested in meeting our accomplished cohort of students. **Save the date!** The national conference of the American Planning Association is scheduled for **Denver, March 29–April 1, 2025** at the Colorado Convention Center, and online April 23-25, 2025. Program areas this year include Climate Change, Energy, and the Environment, Economic Trends, Evolving Technology, Inclusive Planning, Housing Challenges, and Transportation and Infrastructure, among others. It is a good way to network and stay engaged with emerging issues in planning. The UP Program will again be organizing our annual alumni reception at the conference—a chance to reconnect and catch up with faculty and classmates. We hope to see many of you there and will keep you updated on the details. Thank you very much for your time and devotion to the program. We always appreciate your participation. And please feel free to reach out with any updates, questions, or suggestions. Come by anytime to visit when you’re on campus; it’s always a pleasure to greet you in person and hear what you’re doing. Best regards, Douglas Douglas Woodward Associate Director for Professional Development & Practice Urban Planning Program Columbia University, New York, NY 10027 T 212.853.4124
