Aligned with its commitment to critically anticipate change, Columbia GSAPP will convene more than 60 of the most relevant voices from design, theory, planning, advocacy, and other fields, from all around the world to think together in New York about the ways in which fair and desirable futures can be enacted through the built environment.

Continuing this spring, the four remaining ACTIONING SUMMITS will discuss the crucial methodological shifts in the way the disciplines of the built environment operate and collaborate with each other, around the questions of: How to think through/as more-than-human intelligence; How to bring science, spirituality and politics together (acknowledging indigenous knowledge); How to project disability forward; and How to repair.

The first ACTIONING SUMMIT of the Spring 2025, “How to think through/as more-than-human intelligence”, takes place on Monday, January 27 and welcomes James Bridle, Michael Vieira Marder (UPV/EHU), Laura Tripaldi (NYU Shanghai), and Anna L. Tsing (UC Santa Cruz).

Feminist Spatial Practices was founded by Bryony Roberts and Abriannah Aiken in 2023. The collective grew from an initial research and visualization project by Bryony Roberts and Abriannah Aiken, which was commissioned by the Jencks Foundation and e-flux for the Chronograms project and published on e-flux.

Columbia GSAPP is pleased to present the exhibition Prospecting Ocean by Armin Linke, a multimedia artistic research project that investigates the technocratic entanglement of industry, science, politics, and economics at the frontiers of ocean exploration.
