Join us for the Third Annual Detlef Mertins Lecture on the Histories of Modernity Modern Design Education: An Epistemological Account given by Zeynep Cęlik Alexander with introduction by Keller Easterling.
Alexander is an associate professor at the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto and an Associate Visiting Professor at Columbia GSAPP. Her work focuses on the history of modern architecture since the Enlightenment. She has two forthcoming books: the monograph Kinaesthetic Knowing: Aesthetics, Epistemology, Modern Design and the co-edited volume Design Instruments.
The Detlef Mertins Lecture on the Histories of Modernity is an annual lecture in honor of the life and work of Detlef Mertins (1954-2011). The series is organized by Keller Easterling, Felicity Scott, Barry Bergdoll and Dean Amale Andraos. Previous speakers include Lucia Allais and Craig Buckley.
