John Locke

John Locke is an architect and educator living and working in New York City. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia GSAPP and an associate at The Living, an Autodesk Studio. He has extensive experience developing significant architectural works which display a deep understanding between a project’s form, material and urban context. Locke’s recent work investigates the role of design, cultural forces and technology in shaping public experiences. His work has been covered extensively by the design and popular press.

John Locke holds an undergraduate architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a M.S. in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia GSAPP. At Columbia he was awarded the Lowenfish Memorial Prize, the Kinne Traveling Fellowship and the William Ware Prize for Excellence in Design.
