In addition to the events taking place at school this week, the Center for Architecture is hosting a program of talks entitled “Transforming Social Housing – Stories from Europe” on February 17th, 1:00pm-6:00pm. This event will explore shifting national attitudes, housing traditions, recent experiences, and pan-European challenges associated with social housing.

We also want to share the news about a university-wide opportunity. The Columbia Venture Competition is currently accepting submissions for three challenges until February 20th. Each challenge will split $50,000 among the top three winners. Visit Start Up Columbia for further details.

Sean Anderson, Associate Curator of MoMA’s Department of Architecture and Design, will discuss the topic of the refuge crisis and his recent exhibition Insecurities: Tracing Displacement and Shelter.

This event is organized by Faculty David Eugin Moon as part of his seminar Speculative City: Crisis, Uncertainty, and Projections in Architecture. All are welcome to attend, space permitting.
