210730 MSRED Announcement for Alumni

Dear GSAPP Community, I am very pleased to share that we have successfully concluded the new faculty searches in the Real Estate Development (MSRED) program that took place during the spring and early summer. The searches were dedicated to two areas: Real Estate Finance, for a faculty position supported by the endowed Glascock Family Real Estate Development Finance Fund that is focused on further developing and supporting the Finance curriculum; and Interdisciplinary Real Estate Development, for faculty who promote new and productive intersections and exchanges between the disciplines and practices of the built environment represented at GSAPP. I am delighted that Cecily King, Adam Lubinsky, and Christopher Munsell will join the School as full-time faculty this fall, bringing their diverse perspectives, innovative thinking, and considerable professional experience to the MSRED program. It is especially meaningful that we are able to welcome this cohort of three new faculty at the same time—Cecily, Adam, and Christopher are all GSAPP alumni who have already taught at the School and who share a deep understanding of the unique strengths and characteristics of the MSRED program while bringing a breadth of expertise that will further enrich and reinforce the academic profile of the program. Cecily King (’15 MSRED) will be appointed Associate Professor of Professional Practice. Cecily is a real estate developer and consultant focused on inclusive and transformative development opportunities in U.S. urban centers. Throughout her real estate career, Cecily has held roles in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including serving as a Development Director for the City of Detroit’s Housing & Revitalization Department. As a consultant, her clients have included non-profits, public agencies, private developers, institutions, and universities around the country. She began teaching as an adjunct in the Real Estate Development program at GSAPP in Spring 2021. Cecily holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from GSAPP, a Master of Engineering from Lehigh University, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Princeton University. She serves on several boards and advisory councils, including the GSAPP Alumni Board and the Association of Black Princeton Alumni, and is a member of Urban Land Institute. Adam Lubinsky (’01 MARCH) will be appointed Associate Professor of Professional Practice. Adam is a Managing Principal at WXY architecture + urban design. He has a background in urban design, planning, and mobility, with more than 15 years of experience leading large-scale strategic and master plans for public and private sector clients, including extensive work for—and coordination with—New York City agencies, community development corporations, cultural institutions, and private developers. He has taught as an adjunct in the Urban Planning program at GSAPP and has also taught at Cornell University, Parsons New School for Design, and the Bartlett Schools of Architecture and Planning. Adam holds a PhD in Urban Design and Planning from University College, London; a Master of Architecture from GSAPP, and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University. Christopher Munsell (’16 MSRED) will be appointed Associate Professor of Professional Practice and will focus on Real Estate Finance. He has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at GSAPP since 2017, teaching both core and elective Finance courses, and has assisted in restructuring and developing courses in the program. He is the founder of The Bromfield Project, a real estate consulting and capital markets service platform aimed at wealth generation through democratizing access to real estate while providing third party consulting services with a special focus on complex capital structures. He is interested in new forms of financial structuring and investment opportunities that feature a lower barrier to entry. Prior to Bromfield, Chris has more than a decade of institutional experience in both the debt and equity sides of the business where he has structured and managed more than $3 billion in real estate across all asset types. Chris holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from GSAPP and Bachelor of Science from Boston University. The faculty searches received many highly qualified candidates, and I would like to extend my thanks to the search committee members—Kate Ascher, Patrice Derrington, Andrew Dolkart, Malo Hutson, Leah Meisterlin, Galia Solomonoff, and Mark Wigley—for their commitment, time, and thoughtful engagement throughout the process.
