The annual Paul S. Byard Lecture will be delivered by Ricardo Flores (Flores & Prats Architects) with a response by Jorge Otero-Pailos (GSAPP, Jorge Otero-Pailos Studio).
Flores & Prats Architects, led by Ricardo Flores and Eva Prats, is celebrated for its innovative approach to blending contemporary design with the conservation of historic structures, aligning closely with Byard’s vision of preservation as a creative act.

Material Acts: Experimentation in Architecture and Design accompanies and shares a name with the exhibition at Craft Contemporary in Los Angeles in 2024, offering a companion space that delves into the research shown in the galleries.

Visit the 2024 Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards exhibition at Printed Matter, which includes Columbia Books on Architecture and the City’s recent publication Into the Quiet and the Light: Water, Life, and Land Loss in South Louisiana by Virginia Hanusik. Dean Andrés Jaque’s Reggio School named by Dezeen as most significant building of 2022 in their ‘21st-Century Architecture: 25 Years 25 Buildings’ series.
Faculty Jorge Otero-Pailos and team, Atelier Oslo and Lundhagem, are awarded the Sundt Prize by the Oslo Architects’ Association for their preservation of Eero Saarinen’s former US Embassy in Norway. Awarded every two years, this prize honors “an architecturally outstanding private building built on Oslo City land.”
Drawing as Thought a major exhibition of faculty Steve Holl’s work opens at the Tchoban Foundation Museum of Architectural Drawing in Berlin. February 7– May 4, 2025.
The 2025 AIANY Design Awards include the works of GSAPP Faculty: Biogenic House Sections by LTL Architects (faculty Marc Tsurumaki) receives Honor Award in the Projects category and Memphis’s Tom Lee Park by Studio Gang and SCAPE (faculty Kate Orff) receives Honor Award in the Landscape and Planning category.
