Columbia GSAPP is deeply saddened by the passing of Ricardo Scofidio, an admired and beloved member of our community, who earned his Bachelor of Architecture at Columbia in 1960. Ricardo Scofidio was one of the most influential architects of the past decades. Alongside Elizabeth Diller he founded Diller + Scofidio in 1981. Through an incessant dialogue where practice and personal life became indistinguishable, they inaugurated a new form of research-based practice that challenged the boundaries between installations, performance, and buildings. Their partnership reconceptualized architecture as the entanglement of the fleshy, the technological, and the societal.

• GSAPP launched the endowed Françoise Astorg-Bollack and Tom Killian Traveling Fellowship to support MSHP students between their 1st and 2nd years of study.
