Dear GSAPP Alumni,
As we near the end of the Spring Semester, the school is filled with final review projects and our graduating class is excitedly preparing for Commencement and the annual End of Year Show. We hope that you’ll be able to join us at the Opening Reception at 5pm on May 18, as we celebrate all of the outstanding work our students have produced during the past year.
This time of year also marks the annual DesignIntelligence survey of America’s Best Architecture & Design Schools, which asks leaders and professionals in the field to recognize the various programs and their ability to best prepare graduates for professional practice. We are very proud that Columbia GSAPP ranked #2 among the top graduate architecture programs for two consecutive years, which reflects the School’s commitment to combining disciplinary expertise with critical engagement and playful discovery. Our faculty is recognized for empowering their students to successfully engage practice across the diversity of forms it has taken today, allowing us to continually challenge and redefine the field.
As the only official ranking of US architecture schools, this survey carries significant weight among our prospective and current students, and I hope to be able to count on your help. It only takes 15 minutes of your time, and anyone in a supervisory position in an architecture office can participate. More importantly, the survey depends on broad participation in order to generate meaningful results. I am very grateful for your time and feedback. As leaders in the field, you and your fellow alumni are uniquely positioned to reflect on the needs of professional practice today.
