Dear Alumni and Friends, As we have been intensely focused on managing the transition to remote learning and supporting our current students, I have been thinking about our collective GSAPP family—near and far, so many of you are faced with personal situations at home and in your communities. Yet as leaders of the built environment—and graduates of a school that meets the issues of our time with resilience and optimism—this immediate and unprecedented challenge may also be an opportunity to collectively imagine new ways of engaging with our community and our work. Your creativity and ingenuity will be ever more important in the months ahead as we consider how we will live together in the future. In recent days, we have been incredibly touched by the outpouring from alumni seeking opportunities to support students and the GSAPP community. Employment for graduating students, informational student mentorship, as well as outreach to our recently admitted students are all needed and deeply appreciated. Please contact gsappalumni@columbia.edu to volunteer. I want to thank all of you for your continued spirit and, most importantly, wish you and your loved ones health and safety. Warm regards, Amale Andraos Dean
