Davis Zhu ’22 MSRED, Director of Investments at Jemstone Management, is involved in acquisitions and asset management for the firm’s portfolio, including the development at 410 West 126th Street in Manhattanville. The mixed-use project—containing approximately 92–93 rental units—sits between Columbia’s campus expansion and the West 126th Street corridor.

The building adds to the ongoing development of the Manhattanville and West Harlem area, a part of the city where new residential, academic, and commercial development continues to reshape the blocks surrounding the University’s Manhattanville campus.

A team of ’26 MSRED students, Lama Barhoumi, David Ni, and Taylor Lowery, advised by Glascock Associate Professor Christopher W. Munsell, win first place at the Colvin Case Study Competition, hosted by the Colvin Institute of Real Estate Development at the University of Maryland.

Columbia’s winning submission examined 425 Grand Concourse, a 26-story affordable housing development in the South Bronx. The case study analyzed market conditions, valuation and financing, sustainability, urban design, and entitlement processes, with the jury citing the team’s depth of analysis and clarity in showing how affordability and environmental performance are addressed in contemporary housing development.
