Assistantships

Columbia GSAPP offers a limited number of teaching and research assistantships to students enrolled in full-time degree programs and to continuing non-enrolled students. Remuneration is based on the expected workload and is disbursed via semimonthly paychecks.
SPRING 2025 RESEARCH AND TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIPS

The application window for Spring 2025 assistantships has closed. Students will be notified of their candidacy by early December.

The assignment of assistantships will be made on the basis of qualifications for each position. They are merit-based positions; consequently, preference is given to those who have experience in the course or subject matter. Students are only eligible for one position each semester.

Assistantship holders will be asked to work 12 hours per week, with compensation of $5,974.

Please be reminded that students can only hold one appointed position (i.e. Teaching or Research Assistantship) at a time and may not work more than 20 hours per week total for all jobs at Columbia.

Questions/inquiries should be directed to the Dean’s Office: assistantships@arch.columbia.edu.
