Dr Lucy Kimbell is Professor of Contemporary Design Practices and Director of the Innovation Insights Hub at University of the Arts London. Lucy is a researcher and educator involved in design thinking, social design and design for policy. She is Associate Fellow at Said Business School, University of Oxford, where she has been teaching design thinking on the MBA for over a decade. Lucy was embedded in Policy Lab, a team in the UK government’s Cabinet Office through a research fellowship funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council in 2014-15. Current research includes supporting policy teams to engage citizens in exploring the future of government. Her artwork Pindices/Physical Bar Charts, a collaboration with sociologist Andrew Barry, was shown in Making Things Public at ZKM Karlsruhe in 2005 and most recently at Modern Art Oxford in 2017. Lucy is currently developing a new piece for the exhibition Future Knowledge at Modern Art Oxford in 2018.
