Bill Kenworthey (‘00 MSAUD), Regional Leader of Planning at HOK, New York

Based in HOK’s New York office, William Kenworthey, AIA, NCARB, is the regional planning leader for the Northeast practice. As an urban designer and registered architect, Kenworthey leads HOK’s planning, urban design and landscape architecture projects across the region.

With 20 years of experience, Kenworthey has worked with government agencies, private developers, Fortune 500 Companies, major universities, and medical centers on transformational projects. He has focused on the long-term resiliency of coastal cities and applying those lessons learned to urban design efforts throughout the country.

Current HOK projects include the Hartford Capital Gateway Concept Plan in Connecticut; the LaGuardia Airport Master Plan in New York; the University of Michigan Medical Center; and LIU Brooklyn’s Streetscape Design. Kenworthey has past experience coordinating the community planning team for the New York City Mayor’s Office Special Initiative for Rebuilding and Resiliency after Superstorm Sandy and as Urban Designer for the Red Hook Integrated Flood Protections System. He previously worked as an associate urban designer for the New York City Department of City Planning.

Kenworthey frequently presents at university and industry events about urban waterfront design and resiliency. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Wentworth Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University.
