The 6th Annual Urban Design Storytelling Symposium:
Narrative Change for the Green New Deal

From the graphics of advocacy campaigns to the use of speculative fiction and data visualization in both environmental activism and design practice, multimedia storytelling is a necessary and powerful way to mobilize for a more equitable, decarbonized future. This symposium convened an interdisciplinary group of change agents — activists, artists, architects, and authors — whose work demonstrates that narrative change is essential to policy change.

Including work from design studios led by Keller Easterling at Yale School of Architecture, Billy Fleming at the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania, and Janette Kim at California College of the Arts. Moderated by Cassim Shepard.

Narrative Change for the Green New Deal is the 6th Annual Urban Design Storytelling Symposium is organized by the M.S. Architecture and Urban Design Program in partnership with the Green New Deal Superstudio, the Landscape Architecture Foundation, the Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes at Columbia University and the McHarg Center at University of Pennsylvania.
