Architecture Against Apartheid: A Teach-in on Palestine

Omar Shakir, Israel and Palestine Director at Human Rights Watch; Shatha Safi, Director of Riwaq; Sumaya Awad, Adalah Justice Project; Introduced by Nur Jabarin and moderated by Nadine Fattaleh (‘21 MSCCP).

As part of a series of events around issues of architecture, settler colonialism, and apartheid in Palestine, GSAPP Solidarity Coalition for the Palestinian People and members of the PhD program are holding a teach-in focusing on Palestinian struggles for liberation. The conversation will address the state and settler violence in East Jerusalem, Gaza, and across Palestine, situating recent events within a longer history. The event will consider the role of architecture and urban planning in enacting apartheid policies, and as sites of resistance to those policies, as well the legal and political contexts of Israeli state policies, and their spatial-political consequences in Palestine.

Join on Zoom Meeting ID: 368 593 3205

Organized by GSAPP Solidarity Coalition for the Palestinian People and members of the Ph.D in Architecture program.
