CELEBRATING THE MONSOON IN BENGALURU: GSAPP Summer Workshop & Columbia World Project Seed Grant Research

Fri, Dec 5    6pm

The students’ work produced at the end of the summer workshop “Celebrating the Monsoon in Bengaluru” has been installed, starting 11/10/2025 in the Avery 200 gallery. It includes scrolls, collages, and videos outlining narratives and rituals related to the crisis of water, exploring the role of the manmade chain of lakes of Bengaluru’s peri urban area. This material was first presented at the MOD Foundation at the beginning of August in collaboration with students and faculty from the “Water Studio” of CEPT University (Ahmedabad, India). The exhibition includes three videos about “introduction to Site Visits,” "Bengaluru Water Crisis,” and “Towards Watershed Urbanism” approach to Watershed Urbanism.

The exhibition also presents the progress of the Social Impact Seed Award Research supported by Columbia World Projects, focusing on the role of drainage channels in a micro watershed of the Budigere Series.

For more information about this workshop, please see here.

For a trailer on the Watershed Urbanism approach, please see here.

Please join us on December 5, 2025, for a presentation and reception on Avery 100 beginning at 6:00 pm.
