Mon, Sep 14    6:30pm

Liu Jiakun (Jiakun Architects) delivers this Academic Year’s John Foerster ‘64 Fund Lecture. With an introduction by Dean Andrés Jaque and a response by Jing Liu (GSAPP, SO-IL) and Bart-Jan Polman (GSAPP).

This lecture will be hosted in Wood Auditorium at Columbia GSAPP.

Liu Jiakun is an architect and the founder of Jiakun Architects. His practice focuses on social reality, local context, and vernacular craftsmanship, exploring the relationship between individual and collective memories through architecture. Liu’s works have been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale and the Venice Art Biennale, and include the Serpentine Pavilion Beijing commissioned by Serpentine Galleries in 2018. He founded Yulin Song · Project Space in 2023 as a platform for design exchange. In 2025, Liu was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize.
