Claudia Herasme

Mon, Jun 12, 2017    6pm

Presentation by Claudia Herasme (‘00 MSAUD), Deputy Director Urban Design at NYC Department of City Planning.

Please note: this is an offsite event. For those who are not students in the Urban Design program, please email Kaja Kühl to RSVP: kk730@columbia.edu

Part of the UD Sessions event series organized by the M.S. Architecture and Urban Design program. In the evolution of the discipline of urban design, one of the most intensively discussed questions has been the definition of the discipline itself: What is Urban Design? Rather than a concrete answer, however, this series explores an expanded field of urban design through the lens of people who graduated from GSAPP’s Urban Design program in recent decades. Through their current work and a reflection of the ways in which their experience at GSAPP shaped their thinking about design, cities and politics, the series will open a dialogue about What Urban Designers DO?
