Discussion and reception marking the launch of the website, NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project, the first initiative to document historic and cultural sites associated with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in the five boroughs. The locations illustrate the richness of the city’s LGBT history and the community’s influence on America.
The project has identified hundreds of extant sites and its recently-launched web site discusses 100 of them. In addition, the project is completing National Register nominations for sites of importance to LGBT history, including Columbia’s Earl Hall.
