Planning and Urban Design for Risk and Resilience
Thaddeus Pawlowski
Adjunct Assistant Professor, Urban Planning, Columbia GSAPP

Thaddeus Pawlowski, a planner and urban designer who has been working on building resilience in New York City before and after Hurricane Sandy, will discuss the questions that planners and urban designers will likely be asking in the months ahead as they begin to rebuild the communities devastated by Harvey. We will also discuss what lessons can be drawn from New York experience after Sandy and other recent storms on the Gulf Coast.

The Lectures in Planning Series (LiPS) is an initiative of the Urban Planning program at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

All lectures are free and open to the public; refreshments are provided. For more information or to make program suggestions, email lipscolumbiaplanning@gmail.com.
