A Region Transformed: RPA’s Fourth Regional Plan for the Tri-State Metropolitan Region
Tom Wright (M.S. UP ‘95)
President, Regional Plan Association
Since the 1920s, Regional Plan Association, an independent civic group, has been a trusted voice for research and advocacy to improve the prosperity, infrastructure, sustainability and quality of life of the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan region.
Once every generation, the RPA develops and issues a long-range plan with input from the civic sector, government and business that helps to shape the growth of the tri-state area. Ideas and recommendations put forth in these plans have led to the establishment of some of the region’s most significant achievements in infrastructure, open space, and economic development. This fall the Regional Plan Association will unveil the Fourth Regional Plan, a blueprint for our region’s shared prosperity, livability, sustainability, and good governance for the next generation. Tom Wright, President & CEO, will give an overview of the Fourth Plan and how its proposed investments and policies will help ensure the region’s continued success for all residents.
