Phil Wharton

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Phil Wharton is an independent real estate developer actively building multifamily properties in the New York City Metropolitan Area and Southern Connecticut. Prior to forming his own firm, Phil worked for institutional real estate firms such as Avalon Bay Communities, Brookfield Properties, and RXR Realty, and was the lead developer in the construction of over 3,000 apartments totaling approximately $2 billion. Earlier in his career, Phil worked as Vice President and Senior Vice President as a pension fund advisor at the Yarmouth Group and at Equitable Real Estate Investment Management after the firms were merged with Lend Lease Investment Management. In that role, Phil was the asset manager for the real estate portfolio of pubic and private pension funds as well as high net worth individuals.

Phil received an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and received his BA from Harvard College. Phil has been an active member of the Urban Land Institute as well as on the boards of several philanthropic and research organizations, as well as the Harvard Real Estate Alumni Organization (HREAO) and Wharton Real Estate Alumni organizations.
