Dory Thrasher

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Dory Thrasher is a mixed methods social policy researcher. She received her PhD in Urban Planning from Columbia GSAPP in 2015, and has been working in government and government-adjacent research roles since, including in the Office of Evaluation and Research at the New York City Department of Social Services and the Nutrition, Health, and Human Services division of Mathematica. Dory’s research interests include food access, social service and welfare benefit programs (particularly SNAP and WIC), and citizen-state interactions.

Dory is an elected member of the NYC DOE Community Education Council for District 17. She lives in Brooklyn with her family.
