The Hilyard Robinson Scholars Program seeks to expand innovation within the field of architecture and the built environment by creating opportunities to introduce new voices to the profession.
The Hilyard Robinson Scholars Program offers full tuition scholarships for up to ten students each year in GSAPP’s Intro to Architecture summer program. Named in honor of the School’s first Black graduate and former chair of the architecture department at Howard University, the Hilyard Robinson scholarships are specifically aimed at domestic undergraduate students currently enrolled in Historically Black Colleges and Universities, CUNY, or SUNY schools, and are intended to promote access and inclusion by introducing career paths in architecture and its related fields.
The Hilyard Robinson Scholars Program is generously supported through an endowed fund established by the IDC Foundation with matching funds from GSAPP. The Scholars who are funded through that endowment are known as IDC Foundation Hilyard Robinson Scholars.
