Columbia GSAPP has strong representation at architecture biennials and triennials taking place across the globe throughout the Fall of 2019. The School’s faculty, students, and alumni are participating with installations, lectures, discussions, and publications at important domestic and international events including the Chicago Architecture Biennial, Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, International Architecture Biennial of São Paulo, and the inaugural Sharjah Architecture Triennial, among others.

Sharjah Architecture Triennial
November 9, 2019 – February 8, 2020, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

  • Collectively, Adjunct Assistant Professor Farzin Lotfi-Jam, Professor Felicity Scott, and Lecturer in Architecture Mark Wasiuta participate with an installation unearthing the archives of the audio-visual programme that was part of Habitat, the UN Conference on Human Settlements held in Vancouver in 1976, to examine the mechanisms of international aid and the construction of an imaginary of the Global South.
  • CCCP/2020 is a collective of current M.S. CCCP students who are researching the format of the syllabus as a pedagogical tool and as a site of knowledge production.
  • L.E.FT, the firm of Assistant Professor Ziad Jamaleddine, is one of four architecture offices invited to develop proposals for re-imagining the Emirate of Sharjah in response to the themes of housing, schooling, and environment.
