The Historic Preservation Program at GSAPP invites leading practitioners to speak about today’s most pressing issues in the field as part of the ongoing Preservation Lecture Series. In addition, the program organizes the annual James Marston Fitch Colloquium, named for the founder of formal preservation education, and the Paul S. Byard Memorial Lecture Series, which celebrates the legacy of Paul S. Byard, Director of Historic Preservation at Columbia GSAPP from 2000-2008.
