Who is a Museum?

In the Anthropocene, there can be no more museums without perpetuating the subjugation harnessed by European settlers. The project hence attempts to reclaim the architecture of colonial museums in New York City. It tackles the National Museum of American Indian, and rewires the institution of power and opulence to an institution of repatriation of the Lenape remains. It imagines a feedback loop system, that expedites the process of repartition and allows for the building to morph. The building takes the form of a democratic tool, using minimal interventions and temporary architecture so as to create a design that doesn’t aggress, instead allowing the users of the space to decide the evolution of the building. Allowing the building to metamorphosize with the people and context around it.
