This project traverses geological and biological timescales in a scalar module to formulate imaginative decarceral building practices of the Post-Anthropocene. Through experimentations in chemical decomposition and simulations of rapid deterioration across climates, this project demonstrates an ideological shift from processes of extraction to bioadaptive modules. Through examining the structural and material properties of an existing jail in lower Manhattan across these timescales, this project redesigns the methods of demolition or (un)building — and their broader social and cultural implications — to embrace humanity through restorative justice and our connection to geological space and time.
