The proposal aims to resurrect elements of the Atlantic Double Dunes preserve into a place of refuge for full-time lifeguards, as well as those in training. A series of volumes made of rammed charcoal and sand are embedded within the landscape acting as mnemonic signifiers to a lost bonfire resurrected at the site. Sand gardens, fire pits, and moments of prospect throughout the intervention intensify the sensorial experience and collective memory of the coast.
