From FM01 to FM04, I learned a lot of lessons from New York City. First, the gesture of a hug that revealed my excitement at the beginning of the semester to interact with friends from different backgrounds. Second, I soon realized that the language barrier was higher than I thought, and that I needed to overlap spaces of recovery with spaces of interaction. Third, I felt the political and economic challenges in Chinatown and learned the survival movements that Chinatown had developed in response to them. All of these lessons resonated with me as I encountered the gates of the Manhattan Bridge. This gate stood massive, wanting to express itself, but at the same time he feels lonely at the same time. Therefore I applied all of the movements I had felt and learned over the course of the semester to make friends with the gate of the Manhattan Bridge. Wish he will find good friends!
