Meta Museum House

Museums have evolved from their ancient origins as private collections to their transformation into centers of public education in the 18th century. The project explores the limitations of traditional museums, where passive observation often limits immersive art experiences. The narrative proposes a future museum built on new technologies such as Mixed Reality (MR), envisioning a more interactive and accessible approach. The project introduces the concept of a virtual museum, the Carnegie Maison, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize the museum experience by providing maximum access and immersive exhibitions. The project details the integration of technology, furniture and various scenarios within the museum. Drawing inspiration from Marry Ping’s de-materialized designs, the project discusses the role of so-called “furniture”, but also planes and objects, in the future of architecture and space, opening up an exploration of human interaction with the material plane as well as the future of virtual space.
