Impermeable streets, rising groundwater levels, aging sewers, and increasing cloudbursts have led to intensifying floods, particularly in areas that used to be marshland. In a few decades, water will reoccupy what was once the Minetta Riverbed, paralyzing our integral subterranean infrastructure, specifically, Houston Street Station. Propositions for architectural solutions aim to quell our collective dread, but the temperature continues to rise, and storms continue to worsen. This system of flood chambers allows us to see remnants of past floods and warns of future floods, allowing us to come to terms with the water returning.
