Resistant Atlas is a critical computation and digital humanities project. The atlas reexamines ancient sky-based knowledge to question the imposed uniformity of digital time and space. Drawing from environmental logic developed in the Arabian desert, and focusing on the sun, moon, and stars, it offers nonlinear, intuitive ways of reading, communicating, and designing through time and space. The project explores how computation might extend, rather than replace, these knowledge systems. The research is embodied through essays, pamphlets, a book, digital tools, and physical artifacts.
