Whispers of the Wind

This mask addresses both cultural and environmental agendas, serving as a personal exploration of belonging and connection to nature. In the chaos of modern cities—filled with the noise of cars, arguments, and societal expectations—I often feel disconnected. The mask reflects my nomadic experience, moving across cultures and regions since childhood. Like nomads, I don’t root myself in one place or culture, but rather piece together many to form my sense of “home.” Inspired by ancestral nomadic wisdom, this mask resonates with the wind’s song, a symbol of the harmony between nature and humanity. Just as nomads honor nature through singing songs mimicking the sound of wind, this mask reminds the wearer of the sounds of wind and nature often drowned out by urban noise. By acknowledging the presence of wind, the wearer finds emotional balance and belonging, collaborating with nature to create a serene internal space amid the distractions of city life.
