Quantifying Happiness in New York City

Emotions are hard, and even harder to measure. “Quantifying Happiness in New York City” explores how to use quantitative, measured variables to express the subjective, emotional experience of space seeks to answer the following research questions: 1. Is happiness measurable? 2. What factors contribute to happiness? 3. How does happiness differ across NYC neighborhoods? Inspired by the World Happiness Report, Equitable Development Data Explorer, City Mobility Survey and the Social Vulnerability Index, this project takes twelve datasets and organizes them in the five buckets to measure happiness: financial stability, social support, health and wellness, accessibility and community engagement
