In a utopian future when pigs are roaming freely in Manhattan, the relationship between humans and pigs are egalitarian. With the growing concern of animal welfare and sustainability for climate justice, the perception of humans towards pigs shifts from a source of food to a source of emotional support. The Whitney, located within the block which was formerly a slaughter house and a meat market, is repurposed to support the lives of the pigs. The future sea-level is projected to rise, making the ground mostly covered with muds, becoming the playground for the pigs. The Whitney is programmed to have spaces to take care of the pigs and to allow humans-pigs interactions. However, what if it’s not about the pigs afterall? What if it’s about a marginalised community reclaiming the space that used to be a space for oppression to turn it into a space that is beneficial for them?
