The Practice of Presence: Learning to Give and to Receive

Project by Won Hwang, Napat (Beam) Leephanuwong

We give, and we also receive. We give to the earth and to one another, just as we receive from both. This project begins with a simple question: within the density of City Hall Park, what can we offer back to the land instead of only taking from it? The park has long been a space of display and control, maintained as part of the city’s image. Yet beneath that surface lies another order, one that holds exchange, renewal, and care.
