Terms & Conditions explores the convoluted world of user agreements between consumers and large corporations. The purposely opaque and hard-to-understand texts conceal policies that compel people to agree to ever-increasingly absurd terms. From Ancestory.com having the ability to copy your DNA, to Disney+ being able to move you into arbitration in the event of your death, companies have become more emboldened to test what horrid policies they can hide in their illegible texts. Terms & Conditions exaggerates the dark patterns of these documents to point out the absurdity of their current form. The project serves as a call to action for new forms of user agreements that are transparent to consumers.
