“ Re-Production addresses Beacon’s shift from a production-based city to one centered on cultural consumption. The project reintroduces local production by converting regional biomass into biochar and concrete panels within an abandoned factory. Housing units are fabricated and inhabited simultaneously, forming a gradient from private to communal space. As artists move in, production and exhibition overlap through an elevated gallery and viewing platform. Units are continuously produced, extracted, and redistributed to New York City. This cyclical system links material production, housing, and carbon sequestration, allowing the architecture to expand spatially while functioning as an active carbon sink.”
