Silica-Remix

“Silica-Remix is a strategy to scale up innovative material adoption, of low-or-no- carbon nature, and take its manifestation into a form of building. The building is many things at once, with two in particular: One as a climate research institute for science-and-technology research, development, and teaching to take place in order to ideate theoretical knowledge and innovation for environmental sustainability. The other as a total showroom for concrete with low-carbon cementitious material replacement (glass pozzolan) that demonstrates itself as a physical evidence against FOAK (first-of-a-kind project) fear and building industry inertia in order to execute and mobilize realistic change and progress towards a more sustainable built environment. While the building’s singular objective is to serve as tangible proof of performance for glass pozzolan concrete, thereby neutralizing industry risk-aversion, its strategy stands an adaptable design to host whatever low-or-no- carbon SCM next matures to readiness - one-step forward, not one-stop solution.”
