PUERTAS AL PACIFICO

Project by: Ambika kannusami, Elsa Paas, Romina Quinn, Vritti Bhamri

Puertas al Pacífico reimagines the coast of Tijuana as a continuous public space and a defining urban identity. Rather than a fragmented edge, the project establishes a network of access points, gathering spaces, and ecological corridors that connect residents to the Pacific. Working across beaches and cliffs, the project starts by identifying where water channels meet the ocean and turning these points into key access locations. We then regreen the coast by removing hard surfaces and restoring native landscapes. Finally, a network of connections, bike paths, walking routes, canyon trails, decks to the water, and new transit support everyday life along the coast. Each door acts as both destination and connection to a larger system
