“3x4” is conceived as a versatile piece of furniture capable of operating in three distinct orientations, corresponding to seat heights of 16", 20", and 24". This flexibility allows it to function as a low lounge chair, a standard chair, or a stool, adapting to different spatial and programmatic needs. The object integrates storage and containment opportunities through a series of pockets, cavities, and openings that accommodate everyday items, reinforcing its utility beyond seating. It can also aggregate horizontally to become a longer iteration of itself.
Constructed from simple plywood components, it is designed for straightforward assembly, emphasizing clarity of structure and economy of means. Its form is defined by clean lines, exposed joints, and a direct expression of material logic, avoiding unnecessary ornament. The result is a utilitarian yet deliberate object, where proportion, repetition, and construction detail shape its aesthetic, positioning it between furniture and spatial device.
