From further color analysis of other objects in the existing collection [of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum], I was able to establish a link between the existing brick façade of the museum and my proposed curatorial statement: the material evolution of textiles from hand-made to mechanical, including the way brick patterns are organized… color is used as a way to diffuse the material connotations of brick, systematically distributing intense and muted reds, whites and glass across the new curation. The color works as a mechanism for contrast whenever the extension directly connects its circulation with the Cooper-Hewitt, the program changes, or when exhibits for the different artifacts happen.
