Collage Drawing

Located on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona, this enormous building is designed as a practical utopia—a container envisioned to accommodate an entire city in the desert. The shelter is supported by a concrete skeleton and covered with a textile that transforms in response to the climate. Openings at the bottom and top center are designed to ventilate the area. Concentric circles in the plan define different functions of the city: an outer circle designated for transportation, a ring for housing, cultivation, and spaces for required infrastructure including a school, hospital, church, etc.
