By using a seven-square tiling system to break down a large, graduated housing complex into smaller, more intimate components, this project allows units to function both individually, as part of smaller adjacent communities, and as a piece of a comprehensive whole. The geometry of the system in both plan and section reorganizes traditional domestic space and creates varied adjacencies of living situations, while a square-shaped void in the tiling system on the ground level creates a courtyard and thoroughfare. The systematic adjacencies of multiple unit types in each block facilitate adaptable units where lines may be blurred and units may be combined, either horizontally or vertically.
