This playground is designed to provide entertainment for children living in poverty in New York; it employs entertainment to stimulate the imagination for these users during the early stages of their childhood. After analyzing behaviors and generating multi-functioning spaces that would benefit a child’s imagination, I arranged all the spaces by the variety of their connections to create different storylines based on the different environmental conditions. The project works as a system; the programming begins with the transportation system and public services to fulfill the basic needs of a child living in poverty. This project could later be replicated at additional sites across New York to form a network of playgrounds that would provide a wider range of comprehensive services.
